A 2-light outdoor hanging lantern with seedy glass panes and a black finish, made for covered porches and patios.
The Hawthorne takes the classic lantern silhouette and gives it a cleaner, more contemporary edge. Seedy glass panes soften the light while adding subtle texture, and the black finish keeps the look versatile enough for modern farmhouse, transitional, and coastal exteriors. Hang it from a porch ceiling or covered patio beam where guests pass beneath it.
Best for
- Covered front porches and entryways, hung from a ceiling or beam above the door
- Covered patios and pergolas where the fixture stays out of direct rain
- Pairing in twos or threes along a long covered porch for even light
- Exteriors with black hardware, dark shutters, or modern siding
Not ideal for
- Exposed, uncovered locations with direct rain and weather - this lantern is damp rated, not wet rated
- Very low porch ceilings where a 17.25 in tall hanging lantern would sit too close to head height
- Anyone wanting a bright primary light - two 40W candelabra bulbs give accent-level output
How bright is it?
Lumen output is not specified by the manufacturer. With two 40W candelabra bulbs it delivers accent-level light - enough to welcome guests and define an entry, but not a substitute for a primary porch light.
Light color and feel
Light color depends on the bulbs you choose. The seedy glass diffuses the glow and adds a soft, slightly textured sparkle. The fixture is dimmable, so pair it with a compatible dimmer if you want to lower the light in the evening.
