A 1-light outdoor hanging lantern for covered porches, entryways, and patios, finished in Mottled Black with clear tempered glass panels.
Part of the Thorpe collection, this lantern brings the same traditional rectangular silhouette as its indoor siblings but is built for the elements. The Mottled Black finish has a hand-rubbed texture, and the Coastal Armour aluminum frame resists rust, fading, and corrosion - so it keeps its looks through humid summers and cold winters.
Best for
- Covered front porches and porticos - a welcoming light beside the door
- Covered patios and pergolas where you want warm overhead light
- Garages and breezeways with a roof overhead
- Matching with other Thorpe lanterns for a coordinated exterior
Not ideal for
- Fully exposed locations with direct rain or sprinkler spray - rated for damp locations, not wet
- Very tall two-story foyers - the 6 in cord limits drop height
- Spaces that need broad area lighting - this is a single 100W accent lantern
How bright is it?
Output depends on the bulb. With a 100W medium-base bulb it produces roughly 1,600 lumens - about as bright as a 100W incandescent - enough to light a doorway or small porch, not a whole yard.
Light color and feel
Choose a warm 2700K-3000K bulb for a cozy, welcoming glow that suits traditional exteriors, or a cooler 4000K bulb for a crisper, more modern look. The clear glass shows the bulb, so a filament-style bulb adds character.
Sizing and fit
Measures 8 in L x 8 in W x 23 in H with a 6 in cord. The 23 in height suits 9-10 ft porch ceilings; check clearance above doors and walkways. The 8 in width fits standard single-door entries.
