A 28-inch six-light wagon-wheel chandelier in matte black with opal etched glass shades, sized for foyers and formal dining rooms.
Penning reinterprets the classic wagon wheel silhouette with a clean, updated traditional eye. Six opal etched glass shades sit on a matte black steel frame, softening the light into a warm, even glow rather than a harsh point source. The matte black finish gives the traditional form a sharper, more modern edge that suits farmhouse and transitional interiors.
Best for
- Formal dining rooms with an 8-10 ft ceiling and a table 60 in or wider
- Two-story foyers and entryways where a 28 in diameter makes a statement
- Kitchens with a large island that can carry a 28 in fixture
- Farmhouse and transitional interiors with black or bronze hardware
Not ideal for
- Powder rooms or small breakfast nooks - 28 in is too large for tight spaces
- Rooms with ceilings under 8 ft where the 24 in body plus chain crowds the space
- Anyone wanting a bright polished-metal look - matte black is deliberately low-sheen
How bright is it?
Six 100W medium-base bulbs give this chandelier plenty of output for a dining room or foyer - roughly comparable to a well-lit restaurant dining room. Lumen output is not specified by the manufacturer and depends on the bulbs you choose. Use it as the primary light for the room, not as an accent.
Light color and feel
Color temperature depends on the bulbs you install. The opal etched glass diffuses the light softly, reducing glare and hot spots, which flatters faces around a dining table. Pair with dimmable bulbs and a compatible dimmer to take it from bright dinner light down to a warm evening glow.
Sizing and fit
Measures 28 in L x 28 in W x 24 in H with an 8 ft cord and a 4.75 in W x 4.75 in L canopy. In a dining room, hang the bottom of the fixture about 30-36 in above the table. In a foyer, allow at least 7 ft of clearance from the floor.
