An 18-inch outdoor wall lantern for front doors and porches, finished in matte black with clear seedy glass.
Drescher combines a matte black finish with black wood accents for a modern farmhouse look that suits both new construction and older homes. The clear seedy glass adds texture and softens the light, so the glow feels warm rather than harsh. At 18 inches tall, this is the larger of the two Drescher lanterns - a good fit for taller doors and porches where a compact light would look undersized.
Best for
- Front entry doors on taller facades - mount in pairs for symmetry
- Covered porches and patios used for evening entertaining
- Garage side doors and mudroom entries
- Modern farmhouse, craftsman, and transitional exteriors
Not ideal for
- Small side doors or tight entryways where an 18-inch lantern would dominate
- Areas where you want fully diffused light - the seedy glass shows some texture and bulb shape
- Installations where the fixture must point up - this lantern is designed to install facing down
How bright is it?
Lumen output is not specified by the manufacturer. With one 100W medium-base bulb, it delivers strong, focused light for an entry or porch - enough to light a doorway and a few feet of walkway.
Light color and feel
Color temperature depends on the bulb you choose. A 2700K-3000K warm white bulb gives a soft, inviting glow for entries; a 4000K bulb reads crisper for security lighting. Dimmability depends on the bulb and dimmer switch used.
Sizing and fit
Overall dimensions are 8 in wide x 9.5 in deep x 18 in high, with a 6 in cord. The 18-inch height suits taller doors and porch walls; mount roughly 66-72 in above the threshold so a pair sits level on either side of the door.
