A 40-inch four-light linear chandelier with opal etched glass shades and a matte black frame, made for kitchen islands and long dining tables.
The Atkins pairs matte black steel with opal etched glass for a clean modern look. Curving lines soften the classic linear silhouette, so the fixture feels updated rather than boxy. At 40 inches wide and just under 11 inches tall, it spans a kitchen island or dining table without blocking sightlines across the room.
Best for
- Kitchen islands 5-6 ft long, hung 30-36 in above the countertop
- Dining rooms with a 60-72 in rectangular table
- Open-concept kitchens and dining areas that need a linear focal point
- Breakfast bars and peninsula seating where a round chandelier would not fit
Not ideal for
- Bathrooms or covered outdoor areas - the source lists an ETL listing but no damp or wet location rating
- Rooms with ceilings under 8 ft if you plan to use the full 8 ft cord; the 10.75-inch body plus chain needs headroom
- Small square dining tables or tight nooks where a 40-inch linear frame would overhang the seating
How bright is it?
Lumen output is not specified by the manufacturer. With four 100W medium-base bulbs, it delivers bright ambient light for a kitchen island or dining room - enough to light the work surface below, though many people add dimming for evening meals.
Light color and feel
Light color depends on the bulbs you choose; the fixture does not set a Kelvin temperature. The opal etched glass diffuses light softly and reduces glare, so it works well over a kitchen counter. Dimmable when used with dimmable bulbs and a compatible dimmer.
Sizing and fit
Overall dimensions are 40 in W x 6 in D x 10.75 in H with a 25 in W x 0.75 in L canopy and 8 ft of cord. The 40-inch width suits islands and tables roughly 5-6 ft long; the 10.75-inch height works under standard 8-9 ft ceilings. Item weight is 13.44 lbs.
