A 40-watt LED backlit flat panel light for offices, commercial spaces, and utility areas, offering selectable color temperature and damp-location safety.
This Nuvo Lighting LED Backlit Flat Panel features Color Quick technology, allowing you to choose between 3500K, 4000K, and 5000K color temperatures from one fixture. With even light distribution and DLC certification, it delivers premium value with long, maintenance-free life. The white finish and utility style suit professional environments.
Best for
- Office ceilings, replacing standard 1x4 troffers for energy-efficient ambient lighting
- Commercial spaces like retail stores, lobbies, and conference rooms needing adjustable color temperature
- Damp locations such as covered patios, basements, or laundry rooms
- Open-plan workspaces where flicker-free lighting reduces eye strain
Not ideal for
- Residential living rooms or bedrooms - the 1x4 form factor and 4000K+ default feel too clinical for cozy spaces
- Wet locations exposed directly to rain or hose spray - damp-rated only
- Spaces requiring dimming below 10% - dimmable but not specified for low-end trim
How bright is it?
4200-4400 lumens - equivalent to roughly three 40W fluorescent tubes or a 300W incandescent. Bright enough for general office lighting in rooms up to 200 sq ft, but may need multiple units for larger open areas.
Light color and feel
Selectable 3500K (warm white), 4000K (neutral white), or 5000K (daylight). 3500K offers a cozy, incandescent-like glow; 4000K is crisp and neutral for task work; 5000K mimics midday sun for high-alert environments. CRI 80+ is adequate for most commercial uses but not ideal for color-critical tasks like art inspection.
