A 3-light outdoor hanging lantern in an Earth Tone Vivex finish with water glass, built for covered porches and patios.
The Morrow Bay VX brings a European lantern silhouette to the exterior of the house. Its frame is cast in Vivex, a composite the manufacturer describes as twice the strength of resin, non-corrosive and UV resistant, so it holds up to sun and weather far better than painted metal. The Earth Tone finish reads as a warm brown, and the water glass shade softens the bulb into a gentle glow rather than a harsh point of light.
Best for
- Covered front porches and entryways, hung from a ceiling or beam to frame the door
- Covered patios and pergolas where a hanging accent light is wanted over a seating area
- Coastal and humid climates - the Vivex frame is non-corrosive and UV resistant
- European and traditional exteriors that suit a lantern shape in a warm brown finish
Not ideal for
- Low ceilings - the fixture is 21.5 in tall before you add any chain drop
- Spaces where you want a bright primary light - three 60W bulbs give accent-level output
How bright is it?
About 2016 lumens with the specified bulbs - roughly comparable to a bright two-bulb ceiling fixture, enough to light a porch or patio seating area. Output depends on the bulbs you install, which are not included.
Light color and feel
The 2700K color temperature is a warm white, close to traditional incandescent - a soft, golden tone that flatters brick, stone and wood exteriors. Dimmable with a standard dimmer. The water glass shade diffuses the light so it reads as glow rather than glare.
Sizing and fit
The lantern body measures 10.5 in wide by 21.5 in tall and hangs on up to 72 in of chain with 144 in of wire, so it suits porches with 9 ft ceilings or higher. It weighs 7.04 lbs.
