A 28-inch tall, 2-light outdoor wall sconce from Kichler's South Hope collection, finished in Rubbed Bronze with Satin Etched Cased Opal glass, designed for covered porches and entryways.
The South Hope wall lantern softens its sturdy rectangular silhouette with Satin Etched Cased Opal glass, creating an expertly understated glow. The Rubbed Bronze finish adds a touch of casual style, making this fixture a versatile complement to any porch or walkway. Its open, clean design welcomes guests with warm, inviting light.
Best for
- Covered porches and entryways, mounted as a pair flanking a front door
- Outdoor living spaces with a roof overhang, providing ambient light for seating areas
- Garage or patio doors where a durable, wet-rated fixture is needed
Not ideal for
- Directly exposed outdoor areas without overhead cover—this fixture is rated for wet locations but performs best when sheltered
- Small hallways or tight spaces where the 9.75-inch projection may feel intrusive
How bright is it?
With two 60W A19 bulbs (not included), the fixture can deliver up to 1600 lumens—comparable to a standard living room light. This is ideal for accent or ambient lighting on a porch or entryway, not as a primary security light.
Light color and feel
The Satin Etched Cased Opal glass diffuses light softly, reducing glare and creating a warm, welcoming ambiance. Bulb color temperature is not specified, but pairing with 2700K-3000K bulbs will produce a cozy, incandescent-like glow. The fixture is not dimmable unless dimmable bulbs and a compatible dimmer are used.
Sizing and fit
The fixture measures 9 inches wide, 28 inches tall, and extends 9.75 inches from the wall. The backplate is 8.25 x 22.25 inches, and the center of the wall opening is 16 inches high. Ideal for standard 8-9 ft ceilings on covered porches or entryways.
