Best for
- Entryways and front doors, flanking the door for balanced lighting
- Covered patios and porches, mounted at eye level
- Garages or outdoor living spaces with covered ceilings
- Transitional indoor spaces like hallways or mudrooms
- Outdoor kitchens or BBQ areas with overhead cover
Not ideal for
- Uncovered areas exposed to direct rain - rated for wet locations, but best with some cover
- Small spaces where the 8.5-inch extension may be obstructive
- Spaces requiring bright task lighting - uses two 100W bulbs (max 200W total)
How bright is it?
With two 100W incandescent bulbs (not included), the fixture can produce up to 3200 lumens total - equivalent to a 200W bulb. This is suitable for ambient lighting over a doorway or patio, but may not be sufficient as a primary light for large areas.
