A 48-inch wide, 4-light island light from the Preston Collection, finished in black antique brass with mercury glass shades - designed for kitchen islands and dining areas that need a refined, industrial touch.
The Preston island light pairs an elongated bell-shaped mercury glass shade with a sleek Arcadia frame, blending timeless elegance with modern appeal. The fluted detailing adds texture and sophistication, while the clean lines of the frame enhance its contemporary look. Hand-blown glass and a black antique brass finish give it a vintage-industrial character that suits transitional and modern-contempo interiors.
Best for
- Kitchen islands 6-8 feet long, hung 30-36 inches above the counter for task and ambient light
- Dining rooms over a rectangular table, centered for even illumination
- Open-plan living areas where a statement fixture defines the space
- Vaulted or sloped ceilings - includes a 90-degree hang-straight swivel
- Damp-rated locations like covered patios or sunrooms
Not ideal for
- Small powder rooms or hallways - the 48-inch width is too large for tight spaces
- Low ceilings under 8 feet if you need the full 38.75-inch hanging length
- Spaces where you prefer a single central light rather than a linear distribution
How bright is it?
With four 100-watt maximum sockets (bulbs not included), this fixture can deliver up to 1,600 lumens per bulb if you use 100W equivalent LEDs - enough to serve as a primary light source for a large kitchen or dining area. Actual brightness depends on the bulbs you choose; we recommend LED T-series bulbs for energy efficiency and long life.
Light color and feel
The fixture itself does not set color temperature - that depends on the bulbs you install. For a warm, inviting glow, choose 2700K-3000K LED bulbs. The mercury glass shades diffuse light softly, reducing glare and creating a warm ambiance. The fixture is dimmable, so you can adjust brightness to suit the mood.
Sizing and fit
Overall dimensions are 7 inches deep, 48 inches wide, and 12.63 inches high. The hanging height is adjustable from 14.75 to 38.75 inches using the included stems (two 6-inch and four 12-inch). The canopy is 6.25 inches wide and 4.5 inches deep. This fixture is best for ceilings 8 feet or higher, and the included swivel allows installation on sloped ceilings.
