A 7-inch wall sconce with a clear fluted glass shade on a matte black metal frame, perfect for entryways, hallways, and living spaces that appreciate vintage-inspired design.
The Preston sconce features a jar-shaped, hand-blown clear glass shade with delicate fluting, mounted on a sleek matte black backplate. The fusion of vintage charm and modern minimalism creates a striking visual contrast that elevates any room's décor.
Best for
- Entryways and hallways, mounted at eye level to create a warm welcome
- Living rooms and reading nooks, placed beside a favorite chair for task lighting
- Bedrooms as bedside sconces, freeing up nightstand space
- Dining rooms, flanking a buffet or sideboard for ambient glow
- Staircases and landings, providing accent lighting along the path
Not ideal for
- Bathrooms with direct shower exposure - this sconce is damp-rated, not wet-rated
- Outdoor uncovered areas - not rated for wet locations
- Spaces where you need bright task lighting - this is an accent fixture, not a primary light source
How bright is it?
With a maximum 100W incandescent bulb (not included), this sconce can produce up to about 1600 lumens, similar to a traditional 100W bulb. However, the shade diffuses light, creating a soft, ambient glow rather than harsh direct light. For a dimmer effect, use a lower-wattage LED bulb.
Light color and feel
The color temperature depends on the bulb you choose. For a warm, cozy feel, select a 2700K-3000K LED bulb. The clear glass shade allows the bulb to be visible, so consider a vintage-style filament bulb for an authentic look. The fixture is dimmable, so you can adjust the mood to suit any occasion.
Sizing and fit
This sconce measures 7.88 inches long, 6.75 inches wide, and 13.5 inches high, with a 7.88-inch extension from the wall. The rectangular backplate is 4.5 inches wide by 6.25 inches high. It works well in hallways, entryways, and rooms with standard 8-foot ceilings.
