A 42-inch, three-light island light with brushed brass metal and mercury glass globe shades, perfect for kitchen islands and dining areas.
The Newton Sphere collection is a modern industrial design with exceptional architectural details. The iconic globe-shaped shades are made of hand-blown glass, and the brushed brass frame adds a touch of elegance. The shades are easily removable for cleaning, and the included stems allow for customizable hanging lengths.
Best for
- Kitchen islands, providing focused task lighting over a 6-8 foot island
- Dining rooms with a long table, hung 30-36 inches above the tabletop
- Peninsula counters or breakfast bars
- Living rooms with vaulted ceilings (sloped ceiling adaptable)
Not ideal for
- Small spaces where a 42-inch wide fixture might overwhelm
- Outdoor areas exposed to direct rain (damp-rated, not wet-rated)
How bright is it?
Each socket accepts up to 100W (total 300W), but lumen output depends on the bulbs you choose. With LED bulbs, you can achieve bright, energy-efficient illumination. For a 300W incandescent equivalent, expect around 3900 lumens - enough for a primary kitchen or dining light.
Light color and feel
The fixture is dimmable, so you can adjust the light level. The mercury glass shades diffuse the light, creating a warm, inviting glow. Color temperature depends on the bulbs you select; warm white (2700K-3000K) complements the brushed brass finish beautifully.
Sizing and fit
This island light measures 41.5 inches wide, 10 inches deep, and 16.38 inches high. The hanging height is adjustable from 23.13 to 47.13 inches using the included stems (two 6-inch and four 12-inch). The canopy is 8.25 inches wide.
