A 18-inch globe pendant with a mercury glass shade and matte black finish, ideal for kitchen islands and dining rooms.
The Newton Sphere collection blends modern industrial design with architectural details. The iconic globe-shaped shade is hand-blown glass with a mercury finish, creating a reflective, vintage look. The matte black stem and canopy add a bold, contemporary edge, making it a versatile piece for industrial, farmhouse, or restoration-style interiors.
Best for
- Kitchen islands 6-8 ft long, hung in a row or as a single statement
- Dining rooms over a 4-6 person table, providing ambient light
- Entryways and foyers with 9-10 ft ceilings
- Living rooms with high ceilings, as a focal point
- Covered patios or porches (damp-rated)
Not ideal for
- Bathrooms with direct shower exposure (damp-rated, not wet-rated)
- Spaces with ceilings under 8 ft if you need a long drop
- Areas requiring bright task lighting (this is ambient/accent)
How bright is it?
Lumen output not specified by manufacturer. With a 100W incandescent bulb (not included), it provides ample ambient light for medium-sized rooms. LED equivalents can reduce energy use.
Light color and feel
Color temperature depends on the bulb. For a warm, cozy feel, choose a 2700K-3000K LED bulb. The mercury glass diffuses light softly, creating a warm glow with a vintage character.
