Best for
- Kitchen islands and dining areas, hung over a table or counter for focused task lighting.
- Entryways and hallways, adding a vintage-industrial accent.
- Living rooms and bedrooms, as part of a multi-light chandelier or pendant cluster.
- Commercial spaces like cafes and restaurants seeking a retro aesthetic.
Not ideal for
- Outdoor or damp locations, as this glass shade is not rated for wet environments.
- Spaces with low ceilings if you prefer a flush mount, as this shade is designed for pendant or chandelier use.
How bright is it?
Brightness depends on the bulb you choose (not included). With a standard 60W equivalent LED bulb, you can expect about 800 lumens, similar to a traditional incandescent. The matte white cased glass diffuses light, reducing glare and creating a soft, even glow.
Light color and feel
The glass shade does not affect color temperature; it simply filters the light. For a warm, cozy feel, choose a 2700K-3000K bulb. For a more neutral or cool light, opt for 3500K-5000K. The matte finish softens the light, making it ideal for ambient lighting.
Sizing and fit
This shade measures 8 inches wide and 6 inches high, with a glass diameter of 8 inches and height of 5.75 inches. It fits standard pendant or chandelier sockets. Ensure your fixture's socket size is compatible (typically E26 or E27).
