For a typical kitchen island, 4 x 60W equivalent LED bulbs (about 800 lumens each) provide 3200 lumens - bright enough for food prep and general illumination. Use dimmable bulbs and a compatible dimmer for adjustable ambiance.
Light color and feel
The clear waterglass shades diffuse light softly, reducing glare while showcasing the vintage-style ST64 bulbs (recommended). The fixture itself does not dictate color temperature - choose bulbs from warm white (2700K-3000K) for a cozy, traditional feel, or cool white (3500K-4000K) for a more modern, task-oriented look. The ribbed glass adds texture to the light pattern.
