Brightness depends on the bulbs you choose. With four medium-base sockets, you can install up to 60W incandescent equivalent bulbs per socket (240W total), or LED bulbs for higher lumens. For a typical kitchen island, 4 x 800-lumen LED bulbs (3200 lumens total) provide ample task lighting.
Light color and feel
The fixture itself does not emit light—choose bulbs with your preferred color temperature. For a warm, inviting feel, use 2700K-3000K bulbs. For task-oriented kitchens, 3000K-3500K offers a crisp white light. The matte white shades diffuse light softly, reducing glare.
