A 36-inch plug-in picture light in black, made to light wide artwork and gallery walls with a clean, understated profile.
From House of Troy's Classic Traditional collection, this five-bulb picture light uses a metal base and metal shade finished in black - a look that disappears against dark frames and modern photography. The arm telescopes from 7 to 9 inches, and the in-line hi-lo switch sits on the cord about 3 feet from the plug.
Best for
- Living rooms and dens with a large canvas or gallery wall 30-40 inches wide
- Home offices lighting a framed print or certificate above a desk
- Hallways and stair landings where a plug-in light avoids new wiring
- Bedrooms lighting artwork above a dresser or headboard
Not ideal for
- Very small frames under 24 inches - the 36-inch shade will overhang the artwork
- Spaces where a visible cord is unacceptable; this is a plug-in model
- Bathrooms or damp locations - no damp or wet rating is stated for this fixture
How bright is it?
Takes five 25W or 40W T10 medium-base incandescent bulbs (not included). Lumen output is not specified by the manufacturer, but five bulbs spread a broad wash across a wide canvas rather than a single hot spot.
Light color and feel
Color temperature depends on the bulbs you choose; standard incandescent T10s give a warm, golden light that suits photography, prints, and dark wood frames. The in-line hi-lo switch offers two brightness levels.
Sizing and fit
Overall dimensions are 36 in wide x 2.25 in high, with a 36-inch shade and an arm that telescopes from 7 to 9 inches off the wall. Best for artwork roughly 30-40 inches wide on standard 8-9 ft walls.
