A California-compliant plug-in picture light in a black finish that highlights art with warm, even light.
Part of House of Troy's Classic Traditional Collection, this 18-inch picture light meets California Title 20 requirements for portable lighting. The black metal base and shade give it a clean, classic look that suits both traditional and modern interiors. The arm telescopes from 7 to 9 inches to set the right distance from the artwork.
Best for
- Living rooms and studies with framed art or prints up to 36 inches wide
- Galleries and hallways where you want to highlight a single piece without an electrician
- California residents who need a Title 20 compliant plug-in light
- Modern and traditional interiors with black or dark accents
Not ideal for
- Very large artworks over 48 inches wide - the 18-inch shade will not cover the full width
- Spaces where a visible cord is not acceptable - this is a plug-in model with a 2-prong cord
- Damp or wet locations - this fixture is not rated for those areas
How bright is it?
Uses two 25W or 40W B10 candelabra incandescent bulbs (not included). Lumen output is not specified by the manufacturer, but with two 40W bulbs it provides enough light to accent a medium-sized painting without washing out the colors.
Light color and feel
With incandescent bulbs, the light is warm white (around 2700K), which brings out the warm tones in oil paintings and wood frames. The in-line hi-lo switch lets you choose between two brightness levels.
Sizing and fit
The shade is 18 inches wide, and the arm extends from 7 to 9 inches from the wall. Overall dimensions are 18 inches wide by 2 inches high. It works well in rooms with 8- to 9-foot ceilings and is best suited to artwork that is 24 to 36 inches wide.
