A 18-inch stainless steel ceiling fan downrod in a galvanized finish, for mounting your fan at the ideal height in rooms with high or sloped ceilings.
This Fanimation downrod is built from durable stainless steel with a galvanized finish that resists corrosion, making it a reliable choice for both indoor and outdoor ceiling fans. It extends your fan's drop to help achieve the recommended 7 to 9 feet between the floor and the fan blades, improving air circulation and comfort. Multiple downrods can be joined with a coupler for even longer drops.
Best for
- Rooms with ceilings higher than 9 feet, where a standard flush mount would leave the fan too high to be effective
- Covered outdoor patios and porches, thanks to its wet-rated galvanized stainless steel construction
- Replacing an existing downrod to adjust fan height for better airflow and aesthetics
- Pairing with Fanimation ceiling fans that use standard downrod mounting systems
- Installing on sloped or vaulted ceilings when combined with an appropriate mounting adapter
Not ideal for
- Rooms with standard 8-foot ceilings where a flush mount or low-profile adapter is needed to maintain safe clearance
- Fans that require a specific downrod diameter not matching this 1-inch pipe
Style and finish
The galvanized finish offers a utilitarian, slightly brushed metallic look that blends well with industrial or contemporary settings. It is designed to withstand the elements, making it a practical choice for outdoor installations.
Materials and care
Constructed from stainless steel for strength and corrosion resistance. Clean with a soft, damp cloth and mild detergent if needed; avoid abrasive cleaners that could scratch the finish.
Sizing and fit
This downrod measures 18 inches in length and 1 inch in diameter, fitting standard ceiling fan mounting systems. It is designed for ceilings where you need to lower the fan to achieve the recommended 7-9 feet from floor to blades.
