A close-to-ceiling mounting kit for ceiling fans, ideal for rooms with low ceilings or for outdoor covered areas where you want the fan closer to the ceiling.
This Fanimation Close to Ceiling Kit replaces the standard hanger bracket and downrod assembly, letting you mount your fan closer to the ceiling to gain extra headroom. The kit includes both tall and short versions, and the silver wet-rated finish is built to withstand the elements, making it a versatile choice for indoor and outdoor installations.
Best for
- Rooms with low ceilings where a standard downrod would make the fan hang too low
- Covered patios, porches, and other outdoor areas that are exposed to moisture (wet rated)
- Replacing an existing fan's mounting hardware to gain extra headroom
- Indoor spaces with 8-foot ceilings or lower where every inch of clearance matters
- DIY installers looking for a simple hardware swap (no fan motor included)
Not ideal for
- Fans that require a standard downrod mount - this kit replaces that assembly
- Outdoor areas that are not covered and fully exposed to rain (check your fan's rating)
- Ceilings with unusual angles or vaulted shapes without additional adapters
