A 32-inch 8-light pendant with a tapered drum shade wrapped in natural cotton rope, finished in flat black - a large-scale centerpiece for kitchen islands and dining rooms.
The Yates pendant pairs refined structural geometry with the organic warmth of coastal design. A grand tapered drum shade is meticulously wrapped in tightly spun natural cotton rope, which filters light into a soft, multi-directional glow and adds rich texture to the room. At 32 inches wide, this is the larger of the Yates pendants - sized for generous islands and long dining tables.
Best for
- Kitchen islands 8-10 ft long, hung as a single oversized statement pendant
- Dining rooms with 9-10 ft ceilings, centered over a 72-96 in table
- Open-concept living and dining spaces that need a large-scale focal point
- Coastal, transitional, and modern farmhouse interiors that use black accents and natural materials
Not ideal for
- Bathrooms or covered outdoor areas - this fixture is rated for indoor use only
- Small rooms or low ceilings where a 32-inch diameter would overwhelm the space
- Rooms where you want a bright, task-level light - this is an ambient fixture
How bright is it?
Lumen output is not specified by the manufacturer. With eight E26 bulbs at up to 480W total, this pendant is designed for ambient and accent lighting rather than as a primary task light. Use LED bulbs rated for the brightness you want.
Light color and feel
Light color depends on the bulbs you choose. The cotton rope shade filters the glow into a soft, multi-directional wash that flatters warm wood, brass, and natural textiles. Pair with dimmable bulbs and a compatible dimmer for evening ambiance.
Sizing and fit
Overall dimensions are 32 in W x 27 in H, with a 6 ft chain and a 4.75 in W x 0.79 in H canopy. The 32-inch diameter suits large kitchen islands and long dining tables; hang so the bottom of the shade sits about 30-36 in above a table or counter.
