A 6-inch pendant with opal matte glass, inspired by traditional Japanese lanterns, for kitchen islands and dining rooms.
The Soji pendant draws from the clean silhouette of Japanese lanterns, offering a timeless look that suits both modern and transitional spaces. The matte black metal canopy and opal matte glass shade create a soft, diffused glow. Available in multiple glass options, this fixture is a versatile accent for focused task lighting or ambient illumination.
Best for
- Kitchen islands 4-6 ft long, hung in a row of two or three for even task lighting
- Dining rooms with tables 48-60 in, centered above the table for ambient light
- Entryways or hallways with 8-9 ft ceilings, used as a single statement pendant
- Breakfast nooks or reading corners where a soft, warm light is desired
Not ideal for
- Bathrooms or covered outdoor areas - rated for dry locations only
- Spaces with ceilings under 7 ft due to the 20.75in overall height
- Primary room lighting in large open-concept areas without additional fixtures
How bright is it?
Uses one 60W E26 bulb (not included). With a standard 60W incandescent bulb, expect about 800 lumens - bright enough for task lighting over a small table or island, but not sufficient as a sole light source for a large room. LED or CFL equivalents can be used for lower wattage and longer life.
Light color and feel
The opal matte glass diffuses light evenly, reducing glare and creating a warm, inviting ambiance. Bulb color temperature is determined by the bulb you choose - 2700K-3000K recommended for a cozy, incandescent-like glow. Dimmable with compatible bulbs and dimmer (not included).
