The black die cast aluminum body is made to handle weather, and the clear glass keeps the look crisp and classic rather than heavy. It reads as traditional without feeling dated, which is why it works on everything from a brick colonial to a stucco Spanish-style home.

Best for

Front entryways and porches where you want a lantern that matches the scale of a standard 8-9 ft door

Covered patios and outdoor living areas that need ambient light after dark

Garage side doors and secondary exterior doors where a single lantern is enough

Mediterranean, Spanish colonial, and traditional home exteriors

Pairing in twos or threes along a porch or walkway for a coordinated look

Not ideal for

Low ceilings - at 24 in tall with a 10 in extension, it needs clearance to look right

Modern or minimalist exteriors where a clean, flush-mounted light would fit better

Anyone who wants a bulb included - this fixture ships without one

How bright is it?

With a 100W incandescent bulb, this lantern puts out about 1150 lumens - roughly the brightness of a standard 100W bulb. That's plenty for a front door or patio, but it's an accent light, not a floodlight. If you want more punch, use an LED bulb with higher lumen output.

Light color and feel

The fixture itself doesn't set the color temperature - that comes from the bulb you choose. The spec sheet lists 2700K, which is a warm white similar to traditional incandescent. That's the classic choice for exteriors because it feels welcoming rather than harsh. The fixture is dimmable with a standard dimmer, so you can dial it down for evening ambiance.

Sizing and fit

Overall dimensions are 9.5 in wide by 24 in tall, with a 10 in extension from the wall. The backplate is 4.5 in wide by 10 in tall, and the height from the center of the outlet to the top is 19.5 in. This is a substantial lantern - best on walls with at least 7 ft of clearance and doors that are 8 ft or taller.
